When I first the Web Development and Design Program, I never knew anything about coding or designing websites whatsoever. I knew we were going to develop and design websites.
By completing this program, I learned about coding HTML and CSS. I created website mockups by using Adobe Photoshop which I found very simple to do. I also had to design wireframes to know where the section can be located on the website. For example, locating the header, navigation links, what every page is named, what colors to add on the web page, and saving file extensions in the same folder as the others. My technical specifications were to gain knowledge of markup languages and styling sheets, creating project documents for clients, and managing time. When coding, it is very important to write comments about the code because if you have off from work and have someone else update the website for you, chances are they won't know what all the codes mean. Every HTML, CSS, JavaScript comments are different because HTML is set up like , CSS is set up like /* This is a Comment */, and JavaScript is set up like // This is a Comment. Whatever language you are using, it's important the comment structures.
When going into the internships, I managed to ask my clients what they wanted on their website. I got link, colors, headings, sections, and other ideas from the clients. I created mockups, wireframes, and building technical specifications to demostrate what I am going to add to their site. If I had to add anything to their site, I would ask permission to do so since I am the creator and they are the owners. I've written comments about the code on my Movie site and Portifolio page to my HTML and CSS files. By the end of this semester, I will be finishing up my small business sites for Ray's Auto Body with WordPress, VRT System with SEO, and a non-profit organization site for Germantown Sno-Drifters with Google Sites.
